Summer Leadership Program
The Summer Leadership Program is an entrepreneurial based program focusing on leadership, team-building and personal development. Students from top-rated colleges are being recruited nationally. Marcum’s DC office supports non-profit clients in a variety of accounting functions including Assurance, Tax, and Managed Accounting Services (Consulting). Additionally, Marcum’s DC office is our national hub for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are not just buzzwords at Marcum. Women make up the majority of our associates and people of color and LGBTQIA+ and non-US born individuals are represented at every practice level including partners, directors and senior managers. In addition, some 30 languages are spoken by our employees.
The program will include open Q&A sessions with staff, discussions with partners, presentation of entrepreneurial case studies and selection of teams. On the final day the teams will make presentations to a panel of judges including Marcum participation at all levels.
Summer Leadership Program:
• The Summer Leadership Program is designed differently from other Firms. One of the main differentiators is an entrepreneurial based contest.
• Typically offered to Sophomores & Juniors in Accounting programs
• This 2-day program will include things such as:
• Leadership, Communication, and Teambuilding activities
• Meet the Associates – an opportunity for a candid conversation with Marcum Associates
• Meeting the Partners – Hear from experts about their path to partnership
• Entrepreneurial case study challenge presentation.
Case Study examples:
• Optimizing social media for the positive promotion of Firm culture and name.
• Creating a culture of loyalty and retention.
• Maximizing a diversity and inclusion to create a stronger Firm.
• Constructing strong connectivity between departments (audit, tax, consulting) and/or office locations.
• Promoting and driving creativity and entrepreneurial spirit at all staff levels.
• Building a superior rewards system.
