2026 Novartis Summer Internship - NPS Workforce Strategy & Planning Intern

In Workforce Strategy & Planning, our mission is to ensure that we have the right workforce in the right roles at the right time to enable our broader PSC mission. Patients are our purpose! 

In Workforce Strategy & Planning, we are responsible for: 

  • Developing and driving the workforce strategy for our Patient Support Center (PSC)
  • Developing, maintaining, and enhancing PSC resource capacity models across programs
  • Providing workforce-related advisory support and staffing recommendations in support of ongoing operations, new program launches, and special projects
  • Developing and managing PSC financial budget based on program 
  • Collaborating closely with PSC and cross-functional Novartis teams to identify relevant business inputs and define the right technical assumptions for workforce modeling and planning 
  • Developing workforce-related insights and reporting for PSC Leadership Team to enable data-driven operating decisions, collaborating closely with PSC Analytics Team

As an intern, you will: 

  • Learn about the roles, responsibilities, processes, and workload of pharmaceutical patient support centers
  • Learn about the critical role that data plays in achieving our PSC business goals, making operational decisions, and driving PSC strategy
  • Support the development and maintenance of our workforce capacity models by reviewing assumptions, calculations, and results for accuracy and consistency
  • Analyze historical operating and case management data to identify trends and insights that can inform and improve our workforce planning and forecasting efforts
  • Analyze financial and headcount data to identify variances and opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs 
  • Support special projects across the PSC, providing valuable project management, analytical, and documentation support for WS&P participation in these efforts

Minimum Requirements & Preferred Competencies

  • Ideally suited for Undergraduate Seniors, Master’s, or MBA students who are pursuing curricula in Business Administration, Management, Operations, Statistics, Mathematics, or Data Analytics
  • Successful candidates will have the following competencies:  
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Strong aptitude in mathematics & statistics
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work products
    • Curiosity & creativity in connecting dots across information sources and data points
    • Ability to communicate professionally, with appropriate attention to grammar, tone, and polish
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Word, & PowerPoint
