George Mason University Career Services – Professional Dress Award Program (PDAP)
The Professional Dress Award Program (PDAP) is open to all Mason students (undergraduate AND graduate) who meet the criteria listed below.
PDAP provides financial assistance to students who need help covering costs associated with purchasing professional attire. The program is designed to ensure that all students, regardless of financial background, have equitable access to essential professional attire that supports their career growth. PDAP offers one-time funding of $100 to secure professional clothing for students facing financial hardship. Don't let wardrobe costs hold you back-apply to PDAP and invest in your future today!
Minimum requirements
Minimum 2.0 GPA
Currently enrolled, degree-seeking student at George Mason University during the time which the costs are incurred
Demonstration of financial hardship with associated professional attire costs
The award must be used solely to purchase professional attire.

- Describe why you need additional support for professional attire expenses.

Application Cycle: Fall 2025
The application period will run from September 1, 2025 to September 12, 2025. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and final award determinations will be made by September 24, 2025.
Important things to know
This award is considered financial aid and receipt of an award may have an effect on your existing financial aid package. If selected, recipients will need to complete an online tax form to receive the award.
Awards will be paid out (via check) that will be mailed to award recipients using the address listed on PatriotWeb OR via direct deposit if the recipient has it set up on PatriotWeb.
International students/non-residents ARE eligible for the program. However, additional paperwork may be required after you have been selected and the amount may be subject to taxes.
